Mission Possible

On Friday October 21st, CFPM held its 3rd annual banquet and fundraiser. There were well over 100 people in attendance.  Vision for Children's HomeWe had an outstanding meal prepared by Gunny, the executive chef for the Overland Park Convention Center.  We had wonderful worship music to kick things off.  We also had a silent auction with many handicrafts from Northern Thailand.  But, the business of the night was to explain what CFPM is all about, what new things have been happening and the vision for the future.  CFPM is 3 1/2 years old and the time is now to find land to start building homes for a place the children can truly call home.  Arlang, Jinda, Amy and Ryan have been praying for over 3 years for a place to build homes on so that they can rescue more children.  They have such a detailed vision that they have painted a picture of what their dream is.  We presented this picture as the goal for 2012.  The goal is to raise enough money to buy some land and start to build a home.  Please consider partnering with us throughout 2012 by donating generously to CFPM so that we can realize our vision.

Water is LifeNami

Thanks to the Olathe Christian Vacation Bible School and Olathe Rotary, this summer CFPM was able to purchase water filters for the boys and girls homes.  Olathe Christian dedicated their summer VBS fundraising to the children of CFPM.  Most tap water in Thailand is undrinkable and purchasing filtered water bottles is expensive.  Now the children and staff of CFPM will have an endless supply of safe drinking water!  Thank you so much!

John 4:15 - “Please, sir,” the woman said, “give me this water! Then I’ll never be thirsty again, and I won’t have to come here to get water.”

Bing Turns 15!

BingBing, the first child rescued by CFPM turned 15 on August 1st!  He is growing up to be a very fine, godly man.  He does very well in school and is a tremendous artist. Ryan Roe was able to take Bing to Chiang Mai to see his mother in prison on Mother's Day in Thailand.  It's always special to be able to take a child to see their mother or father in prison.  But, to do it on Mother's Day is even better.  It is a 4-hour bus ride to get to Chiang Mai, but it is worth it!

Matthew 25:36 - I was naked, and you gave me clothing. I was sick, and you cared for me. I was in prison, and you visited me.’

CFPM Baseball CampCFPM Baseball Camp - 2011

While Steve and Ryan Cummings were visiting from Kansas City, CFPM sponsored a baseball camp.  We had a great time hosting a baseball camp this summer.  We had three different foundations participating; CFPM, Baan Eden and Happy Home.  Many of the children had never played baseball before, but by the end of the day they were doing great.  Seeing the smiles on their faces was priceless.  They all said they wanted to do it again next year.  Thanks to some generous donations we were able to provide gloves for everyone to use, free lunch and lemonade and everyone got their own t-shirt.  Many of the kids were seen wearing their shirts around town the next week!

CFPM Medical Clinic

Medical ClinicIn June we had a volunteer medical team visit on a mission trip.  They were able to provide a free medical clinic in a poor Thai village. They were able to provide free medical evaluations to several poor Thai people in the village.  The medical team examined an elderly Akha woman with facial drooping and determined it was Bell’s Palsy, a benign condition. She was so happy that it wasn’t cancer that she left and returned with several plastic bags filled with pineapples to say “thanks.” That was the first time team members were paid in pineapples!
