What we believe: We believe that the sixty-six canonical books, called the Bible, is the inspired, the only infallible, authoritative Word of God. We believe that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We believe in the deity and humanity of Christ. We believe that every person has worth as acreation of God, but that all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God. We believe that Jesus Christ is the one and only Son of God who died for our sins and arose from the dead.
We believe that the believers, individually or as the church, the body of Christ on earth, is empowered by the Holy Spirit and exists to save the lost and edify the saved. Our strategy: As individuals who love the Lord Jesus Christ… who have accepted Jesus as our Savior… who have identified Him as Lord of our lives… and who believe he has called us according to His purposes to serve Him… We have committed our time, energy and resources to “serving children whose lives have been disrupted by the incarceration of a parent. Thus fulfilling the desire of Jesus who said when questioned by His disciples, “'Master, what are you talking about? When did we ever see you hungry and feed you, thirsty and give you a drink? And when did we ever see you sick or in prison and come to you?' Then the King will say, 'I'm telling the solemn truth: Whenever you did one of these things to someone overlooked or ignored, that was me—you did it to me” (Matthew 25:37-40, The Message) as well as the instruction found in James 1:26-27, “Anyone who sets himself up as "religious" by talking a good game is self-deceived. This kind of religion is hot air and only hot air. Real religion, the kind that passes muster before God the Father, is this: Reach out to the homeless and loveless in their plight, and guard against corruption from the godless world”. |
